Betterworks is the continuous performance management solution to help your organization motivate your workforce and provide the insights for your organization to achieve today’s business goals, and be ready for tomorrow’s challenges. As an easy-to-use, hosted SaaS solution, Betterworks can be easily deployed across your organization. Updates and product enhancements are made automatically on a scheduled basis by the Betterworks team, ensuring that your organization is always using the latest stable version of the product.

Performance Management Foundations (Formerly known as Enterprise Edition)

The following are the capabilities that are included in our Performance Management Foundations subscription:

  • Goals Module: Allows users to create and publish goals that are visible to your entire organization, or private to specific people or groups. Goals can be aligned to peers, managers and top company goals. Goals can have metric or milestone characteristics to capture metrics and can be connected to third party systems including, but not limited to Salesforce, JIRA, Asana and others. Users can also comment, cheer or nudge goals to encourage each other.
  • Feedback Module: Betterworks provides an interface for gathering feedback from an employee’s peers, manager and direct reports if applicable. The module automatically recommends who an employee should get feedback from, based on who they work with most often.
  • Conversations and Reviews Module: Betterworks provides an interface for managing performance conversations and/or performance reviews between managers and employees. The administrator can customize the templates used for these performance conversations and set the frequency at which they occur.
  • Recognition Module: Betterworks provides an interface for users to publicly recognize their peers. Recognition is easily included into formal reviews and can be reviewed during development conversations.
  • Reporting & Insights Module: Betterworks provides employees, managers, and leaders with a modern, interactive analytics experience that surfaces real-time workforce, conversations, and feedback insights directly within the solution. This unified experience offers a consolidated, accurate view of workforce engagement, performance activity, and program health. By providing on-demand data, organizations can leverage strategic insights across the entire workforce to detect trends and drive development planning
  • Third Party Integrations and API for use with the Betterworks Performance Management:
    • HRIS integration Framework:
      • Standard SFTP CSV Import: Changes to organizational data in your HRIS, such as reporting structure shifts, new employees starting, and employee deactivations, are pulled into Betterworks and updated automatically Connector supports HRIS systems such as SuccessFactors, Workday, Ultimate Software and others with automated reporting capabilities.
    • Betterworks API: Allows programmatic access to update progress on Goals module, plus easily retrieve goal and employee data in any system or application. Subject to the Betterworks API Terms of Service found in the admin portal, Customers shall have access to the Betterworks API at no additional charge.
    • Third Party Application Integrations: Betterworks, in addition to any services purchased through an applicable Order Form provides its Customers access to third-party integrations for use with the Goals module. Said integrations are available to Customers for the duration of the then-current Term. An always-current list and descriptions of available integrations is found within the Admin Panel of the product. Administrators can request access to these third-party integrations by requesting them within the product or by filing a Betterworks support ticket. Integrations may include, but are not limited to JIRA, Salesforce, Google Sheets, Asana and more.
    • Single Sign-On Integration: Betterworks supports authentication integration via Google Apps, OpenID or SAML (Okta, Ping Identity, OneLogin, and ADFS).
  • Betterworks Preview Environment: Betterworks, in addition to any services purchased through an applicable Order Form, may provide its Customers access to additional or new services and/or modules through its Preview Environment on each Customer’s dashboard. These offered services and/or modules are provided to the Customer for trial purposes only (e.g., testing and internal demos) and may not be used in a production environment, including by adding Users or importing data. Any use of any services or modules in a production environment may result in the applicable license fee being immediately due and payable, upon notice to Customer. Betterworks reserves the right to terminate Customer’s access to these products and modules offered through the Preview Environment at any time and for any reason.

Betterworks Talent Intelligence Subscription

  • Calibration Module: Allows your HR leaders, alongside your business leaders, to provide continuous talent calibrations. Betterworks Calibration is built from the up-to-date data gathered from a continuous performance process with insights into goal achievement, development feedback and recognition it makes prepping and running calibration meetings easier, less biased and more effective for the business. As an easy-to-use hosted SaaS application, Betterworks can be easily deployed across your organization. Updates and product enhancements are made automatically on a scheduled basis by the Betterworks team, ensuring that your organization is always using the latest stable version of the product.
  • Succession Module: Give leaders an ability to build a ready-now or future-ready pipeline of internal talent that reduces hiring costs and time-to-fill, ensures business continuity through change, strengthens engagement and retention, and sustains high performance across critical roles.
  • Skills Intelligence on Unified Talent Profile: Gives leaders true visibility into the skills employees have today and where they can grow next. By grounding skills in real performance signals, goals, feedback, and 1:1s, and validating them through manager input, leaders can move beyond self-reported data to uncover hidden capabilities and assess future potential.

Betterworks Engage Subscription

Betterworks Engage is a Saas-based employee engagement tool. Feedback is gathered through surveys and polls, with standard reports provided to users based on roles and permissions. Betterworks provides users the ability to create action plans, which can be tracked by admins.
The tool comes standard with research-backed templates, industry benchmarks, and a library of action plans. Updates and product enhancements are made automatically on a scheduled basis by the Betterworks team, ensuring that your organization is always using the latest stable version of the product.

  • Surveys Module: Allows users to create and publish surveys that are responded to confidentially by employees. Surveys can be sent to the entire employee population, or certain segments based on employee demographic. Automated lifecycle surveys such as onboarding or exit are also supported. Survey templates are provided, but there is no limit to survey customization. Surveys are delivered via email, SMS, or kiosk. 
  • Polls Module: Betterworks provides the ability to send single question surveys in the form of Polls. Polls can be set up to automatically deliver  on a configurable cadence. Polls are delivered via email or SMS. 
  • HRIS integration Framework: 
    • Standard SFTP CSV Import: Changes to organizational data in your HRIS, such as reporting structure shifts, new employees starting, and employee deactivations, are pulled into Betterworks and updated automatically. Employee demographic data may also be pulled over to support the reporting and analysis. 
  • Single Sign-On Integration: Betterworks supports authentication integration via Google Apps, OpenID or SAML (Okta, Ping Identity, OneLogin, and ADFS).
  • Account Setup
    • Account Activation: Betterworks will provision your company’s instance of Betterworks and provision your administrator(s) accounts within two (2) business days following contract execution.

Betterworks Guides (available as an add-on for an additional cost)

Access to create and launch unlimited in-app custom guides that will appear for users in the Betterworks platform. Betterworks Guides can be used by customer program teams to provide program communications, timelines & expectations & educational walkthroughs directly in Betterworks. Betterworks Guides customers receive access to a unique Betterworks Guides instance, which includes 20+ starter templates & training resources, to support guide creation.

Technical Support and Ongoing Resources

  • Technical Support: Betterworks customers have access to Betterworks Technical Support, where the customer may identify up to 5 designated Support contacts that can create new tickets/view status on existing tickets or submit feature request enhancements to the product on behalf of Customer and its Users. Betterworks Technical Support (via email/web) is available 8AM-6PM PST Monday through Friday, with a ticket target response rate under 2 business days. Customers can assign its designated Support Contacts during Betterworks onboarding (defined above) and can amend its designated Support Users at any time by making the request via a support ticket.
  • Documentation and Announcements: Betterworks provides user documentation that covers goal-setting processes, performance management, features, and best practices.
  • Standard Online Training: Betterworks provides standard online training. The training may be accessed through the Betterworks Learning Management System (“Betterworks University”).
